Improvement of linguistic skills to the highest level

The French International Baccalaureate BFI is a new and flexible system that is particularly suited to to the needs of students in French schools abroad, as it enables them to strengthen their already remarkable skills in several foreign languages (level C1 to C2). in several foreign languages (level C1 to C2 by the end of Terminale – 2nd year of sixth form).

Improving the quality of the students’ curricula

With the BFI, students can discover innovative pedagogical methods that are open to the world, such as the subject of world knowledge. The BFI allows to recognize the quality of the students’ studies, their commitment and their work, thanks to its high value in terms of coefficients and visibility in the diploma itself.

To offer greater flexibility to students in their school career.

At the French Lycée in Bilbao, the introduction of specific Première and Terminale classes leading to the French International Baccalaureate BFI is part of an ambitious goal to develop foreign language proficiency and improve the international education of students enrolled in the French school system. It aims to create multilingual pathways, increase exposure to foreign languages and enrich the international culture of students.

Starting in the 2024 academic year, the high school will offer the BFI in two programs, trilingual and quadrilingual.

To access the BFI, students must have passed level B2 in foreign language A and B1 in foreign languages B (trilingual itinerary) and C (quadrilingual itinerary).
