Nursing

The well-being of our students is our priority. To ensure the safety and health of all of them, we have a health service to provide immediate attention to anyone who needs it.

Present at the school every day, the nurse is responsible for providing first aid in the event of illness or accident. She also manages students’ health records (allergies, illnesses, etc.) and participates in health education for the students.

Attention and care

Any student who feels unwell should go to the infirmary, where, after an assessment of their situation, the necessary first aid will be provided. If no further attention is required, they will return to class and the family will be informed. Should it be necessary to administer medication, the family will be contacted, and it may only be administered after receiving their authorization.

To ensure families feel secure, they may contact the nurse by telephone at any time during school hours to resolve any concerns related to their child’s health.

Medical treatment

For students undergoing short-term medical treatment, the nurse will be responsible for storing and administering the treatment, provided that the families provide the medical report. For more serious or chronic conditions, a tailored protocol (PAI) is developed in collaboration with the family and the primary care physician.

Health education

The Basque Health Service (Osakidetza) is responsible for administering vaccines to the school’s students. The nurse coordinates and organizes this activity, also acting as a liaison with families.
