French as a Foreign Language Program (FLE)

A pedagogical offer open to all

The idea that only children of French citizens can attend the Collège Français is far from accurate.

The school’s admission rules are clear: all foreign students can enroll at the Collège Français. Every year, many pupils from the French School come from different from France, which makes it a truly international school.

Therefore, to think that the Collège Français is exclusively for French citizens or French speakers is simply not true.

Studying in French when it is not your mother tongue is possible!

The French as a Foreign Language (FLE) program allows students who are new to the language to integrate into the French educational system. The classes are aimed at children from the first year of primary school onwards. Thanks to this support programme, many non-French-speaking pupils currently enrolled at the Lycée Français de Bilbao have no difficulty studying in French.

This programme, which usually lasts two years, enables pupils to acquire the basic skills needed to continue their education in French.
